According to Education Minister Prof. Yuli Tamir, 25% of Israel’s public schools are within Hamas’ new rocket range as defined by security officials in recent days (reported HERE on YWN).

Tamir stated that at present, there is no plan towards fortification for schools other than those in Gaza belt communities, but such a reality might be required in the future.

In a Chanukah related note, Education Ministry officials state that during Chanukah, special trips and activities will be offered to Gaza belt schoolchildren in an effort to ease their anxieties by providing extracurricular activities and trips out of the rocket firing region.
