There were riots in Ofer Prison which houses security prisoners on Shabbos afternoon. Teargas and a water cannon were used to restore order. Three guards were injured. Ofer is located along Highway 443, not far from the Atarot area of Yerushalayim.
Two Jewish girls walking from Kiryat Arba to Chevron on Shabbos were accosted by Arabs. They managed to flee the assailants. Police launched a search for the perpetrators.
At of 18:30 on motzei Shabbos, at least 12 Kassam rockets and 16 mortar shells were fired into the Greater Sderot Area on Shabbos. Baruch Hashem, no physical injuries were reported. The air force targeted a Kassam launcher killing at least one terrorist.
Two unarmed people were taken into custody along the Lebanese border on Shabbos. They were taken for questioning.
Terrorists based in Gaza on Shabbos fired at IDF soldiers operating near Kibbutz Nir Oz. no injuries were reported.
Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Salem Fayyad is calling on the international community to “do more than just hold Israel accountable regarding ongoing building in settlements”.
