High Court Justice Yoram Danziger issued a temporary order preventing the lowering of the price of standard rye bread after the Ministry of Industry & Trade last week announced the price of the bread would drop by 2.7%.

Attorney’s Yoram Bonen and Tali Shamai petitioned the High Court on behalf of the nation’s bakers, against the ministry, stating the move would cause the bakery industry losses of NIS millions, losses that it is not capable of recovering from.

In addition, the court announced the state failed to properly announce the price change as required by law, thereby demanding a delay in doing so.
