Public Security Minister Avi Dichter seems to be seeking divine intervention as the general elections draws near, with the minister seeking the assistance of the Rav and known Mekubal Rav Yaakov Effergan, better known as The Rentgan from Netivot.

The minister visited the rav on erev Shabbos, and after the meeting between the two, Dichter received a bracha that he would remain in the party’s list in Knesset.

During recent weeks, Dichter has been focusing a great deal of his efforts on increasing his support bus in the Arab sector, hoping to emerge in a realistic slot following the Kadima primaries on Wednesday.

The minister’s concerns are not without cause, with polls showing he has dropped in popularity in the party.
