Arab MK to be Indicted for Travel to Syria

MK (National Democratic Assembly) Said Naffaa will face criminal prosecution for his visit to Syria in September 2007. According to a statement released on Sunday by Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, the MK broke the law and will face charges of contacting an enemy agent and travel to a hostile nation.

While visiting Syria, the MK met with a senior official in the Poplar Front terror organization, a meeting that was held in the Damascus office of Hamas leader Khaled Meshal.

In accordance with a law passed this summer, a MK may not serve in the parliament of Israel after visiting a hostile country.
