In a highly-kept secret, Rav Mordechai Eliyahu Shlita visited Kever Rochel just a few moments ago, YWN has learned.The Rav, who was released from the hospital on Thursday night, had requested to visit the Kever on Monday. With much assistance from Mosdos Kever Rochel, the Kever was closed to the public, and Rav Eliyahu Shlita arrived with a 10-member medical team, along with his Gabbaim.
This event was not previously publicized due to the concerns that many people would flock to the Kever to see Rav Eliyahu – who had sustained numerous cardiac episodes and strokes, (resulting in a number of surgical procedures). Rav Eliyahu had been hospitalized most of the time since Pesach.
A YWN reporter allowed at the Kever during the visit reports that upon exiting the Kever, Rav Eliyahu gave a Bracha to the people from Mosdos Kever Rochel for all their hard work, and for ensuring that his visit to the Kever went smoothly.
