Israel Election News – 57 Days


YISRAEL BEITENU: Fashion model Orli Levy, a daughter of former foreign Minister (Likud) David Levy will on Sunday announce she is joining the Yisrael Beitenu Party headed by Avigdor Lieberman. She will take place in the party’s election campaign kickoff rally in Katzrin in the Golan Heights. She hopes to land a realistic spot that will place her in the 18th Knesset.

MERETZ: 1000 registered Meretz Party voters on Sunday will be asked to vote in the party’s primary election to create the roster for the 18th Knesset, rating 22 candidates.

MEIMAD: Former minister Ami Ayalon, who recently resigned from the Labor Party and announced he will accept the leadership of the left-wing religious Meimad Party is now about to do an about-face and announce he is leaving politics. He plans to leave politics and continue working with Dr. Sari Nusseibeh and the National Referendum organization the two launched.

GREEN: Eren Ben-Yemini was elected to head the party. 700 people took part in the vote last week to elect the party’s leader.

As per the calculation of the new minimum threshold of 2.5%, no party can enter the 18th Knesset with less than three seats.
