The United Nations Security Council appears to favor a resolution seeking to compel Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority) to continue talks based on the Annapolis Understanding and the Roadmap Plan, wishing to ensure the incoming administrations to not stray from the diplomacy track.

The UN body met on Saturday in en urgent session. A vote on the resolution is expected on Tuesday.

Statements from Yerushalayim in response to the UN move are positive, signaling any incoming administration welcomes a continued diplomatic channel with the PA that is based on the previous agreements with third-party intervention.
