Minister without Portfolio Ami Ayalon, who recently resigned from the Labor Party has agreed to comply with requests to resign from his cabinet post as well, which he received as a result of his membership and senior position in Labor.

Party secretary Eitan Cabel informed Ayalon that his cabinet post was part of a party coalition agreement with the ruling Kadima Party and now that he is no longer a member of Labor, the post belongs to the party, calling on him to step down.
