Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Thursday approved the opening of Gaza’s gates to international aid officials and foreign journalists.

The move is viewed as the government giving in to mounting international pressure, with the UN and other accusing Israel of human rights violations by maintaining the blockade on Gaza.
