7:00AM IL: Tel Aviv area police on Tuesday morning are on heightened alert status due to a credible terror alert that a major attack is planned for the southern part of the city.
Police early Tuesday morning established roadblocks at all entrances to the city, resulting in significant delays.
Arrests of illegal PA (Palestinian Authority) residents found in the city are being made. Arrests have already been reported in the old central bus station area as well as on the Geha Road.
8:05AM IL: Tel Aviv police have lowered the terror alert. No additional information at this time.
9:13AM IL: Police continue operating at heightened alert status. A command post has been established and a photo of a suspected bomber is being distributed. 10:03AM IL: Police continue operating in Tel Aviv, now close to four hours into a terror alert. A command post is operating and vehicles moving around the city are being checked as are all vehicles entering the area. The police activity is resulting in significant delays in many areas as security forces work against the clock to thwart a planned bombing attack which credible intelligence information states is scheduled for today.
12:10PM IL: Police step down from high alert in Tel Aviv. Two Arabs in custody. No additional information at this time.
