ISA & Mossad Agents Travel to Mumbai

ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) and Mossad agents left before Shabbos for Mumbai, consisting of a team of experts in analyzing and investigating a terror scene.

Israeli officials are viewing the carnage in India as an attack that specifically chose the Chabad House, prompting the investigation due to the intentional targeting of the high-profile Jewish building.

Israeli officials report on Sunday that on the face of things, the attack appears to have been very well planned, and among the information they hope to amass, it is important to learn if any government was behind the assault.

A senior security official stated there is no doubt the targeting of the Chabad House was not coincidental, explaining it is on a side street in a city with 700,000 buildings. The source explained “the Chabad House is a place where Jews and Israelis visit and it was no accident that the terrorists chose it as one of the targets”.

Officials have also learned that some of the terrorists are Pakistani born British citizens. Pakistani born Brits were also involved in the Mikes Place terror attack in Tel Aviv on April 30, 2003, when 3 people were killed and over 50 wounded when the Pakistani-born British national blew himself up on a Tel Aviv promenade at Mike’s Place Café. The attack was perpetrated by Asif Muhammad Hanif, 22, a British citizen.

A second British citizen, Omar Khan Sharif, 27, married, a resident of Derby, who was also due to have perpetrated a suicide attack, fled the scene. Khan Sharif attempted to detonate the bomb in his possession but the bomb failed to explode. He fled the scene after discarding the bomb. During his flight, Khan Sharif struggled with a security guard at the David Intercontinental Hotel as he tried to snatch the latter’s ID. Khan Sharif’s body was positively identified on May 19, 2003, after having washed ashore on the Tel Aviv beachfront on May 12th.

The terrorists were enlisted by al-Qaeda.
