Attorney General Menachem Mazuz on Wednesday notified Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that he is considering filing a multi-count criminal indictment against him pertaining to his alleged illegal activities in the Rishon Tours investigation. The attorney general also notified Olmert’s longtime aide and confidant Shula Zaken they she too is likely to face criminal charges.
The prime minister stands accused of double billing for airline tickets, taking money from numerous Jewish organizations for his official trips abroad. He is alleged to have earned over $100,000 with the multiple billings, which may result in charges against him that include breach of trust, fraud, and falsifying records.
