Health Ministry officials have alerted the Williger food company of the presence of an unacceptably high level of histamines in tuna, referring to cans weighing 960 grams, production code 441170608 (June 17, 2008) and usually delivered to institutions.
The high histamine level may cause a number of symptoms, including dry mouth, headache, itching, diarrhea, rash, and cardiac disturbances.
Williger has issued a recall and health officials are continuing to monitor the situation.
