Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Friday has ordered Gaza border crossings to remain closed in response to four Kassam rocket attacks on Thursday.
Barak has stated that as long as the rocket attacks continue, the passage of goods into Hamas-controlled Gaza will be halted.
Gaza officials report power plant operations have been halted due to a shortage of fuel, blaming Israel due to the fuel embargo.
In the meantime, no news is heard regarding the plight of captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, who is believed to be in Gaza, where he was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists during a June 2006 cross-border terror attack in southern Israel.
