The primaries in the Kadima Party will take place on December 17th. It was also decided that Knesset speaker Dalia Itzik will run the party’s election campaign. The position was offered first to Shaul Mofaz, who declined. Also considered for the position was senior Kadima official Tzachi Hanegbi.

The primary election will be the first for the party, which was established by Ariel Sharon, who determined the lineup in the original setting, followed by the takeover of Ehud Olmert after Sharon suffered a stroke.
