Directors of mosdos in Eretz Yisrael have urged contributors not to send cash donations in the mail. The call comes after the announced arrest of a postal authority employee suspected of stealing cash envelopes. The worker is from the David Street station in the Bucharin area of Geula, in Yerushalayim.
Complaints were received, prompting postal police to launch a clandestine investigation in which they baited the suspect who was apprehended red-handed.
Following the news of the arrest, yeshivas and other mosdos call on contributors to refrain from sending cash through the mail.

#1. U took the word out of my mouth!
Why not? Don’t the postal workers need some extra?
Hey,ever heard of such a thing as a CHECK? The underground economy with its illegal activities does not pay!
Sending a check does not necessarily help. There have been reports of many missing or open letters. There is an especially big problem with the US Treasury checks which are stolen and cashed. This problem is not limited to the Bucharim branch of the post office. It is probably advisable for anyone expecting a check to use a PO box, although this is not failproof either. Stolen mail is an epidemic here, in all neighborhoods. The post office needs a major overhaul.
