A group of IDF reserve duty officers have sent a letter to the large parties in Knesset asking that they come out publicly in opposition to the Tel Aviv mayoral campaign of Dov Chenyan, who they say supports refusal to serve in the military.
“It is unacceptable that Jewish public official is seeking to run one of the major cities in Israel while opening supporting those who refuse to serve in the IDF,” the letter read.
The Chenyan election committee called the allegations untruths, dismissing their validity. Chenyan officials add it is obvious that the political pressure is compelling the candidate’s opponents to take drastic measures.
