If you are confused as where to vote, eligibility and possibly other facts, there is help only a telephone call away.
On November 11th, municipal elections will be held around the country. One may call the toll free number, 1-800-300-059, select a language, and enter one’s identification number. This will result in a recording telling the caller where he/she should vote, the number of the voting station and address.
If that is not enough, one may visit the Ministry of the Interior’s website at http://www.pnim.gov.il. The top right box addresses the upcoming elections and redirects to a more comprehensive Hebrew page. There does not seem to be any website information in languages other than Hebrew.
In addition, the ‘1-800’ information number operates round-the-clock offering information in Hebrew, Russian, English, Arabic, and Amharic. If you wish to speak to a person, call on Sunday through Thursday 08:30 – 22:00 and Friday 08:30 – 12:00. One may also send an SMS text message inquiry to 052-999-1854. A text message must contain one’s entire ID number, 9 digits.
Citizens who are hearing impaired may send a fax to 1-800-200-286.
