The Ohr Yarok non-profit organization which is working to reduce the number of road accident fatalities and injuries is launching a campaign “Israel is Stopping” with the sub headline “30,000 road deaths, a number we cannot live with”.
The NIS 2 million campaign is intended to persuade Israelis to pressure the government to compel the national government to get serious about combating road deaths.
The event will begin on 25 November, the day dedicated to road safety awareness by the Knesset. The day’s major event will be hosted in Nokia Stadium in Tel Aviv and other smaller events will take place around the country.
Ohr Yarok director Shmuel Abuav hopes the nation will indeed come to a halt on 25 November and take time to reflect and make decisions that will save lives.
