Chabad in Eretz Yisrael is pushing to support the election of Rav Meir Porush, who hopes to become the next mayor of Yerushalayim.
In Porush’s Kol Yerushalayim newspaper (issue 2), Porush writes that Chabad is working in earnest towards a successful campaign to make him the next mayor of Yerushalayim. Chabad also recommends voting for the UTJ ticket in the City Council race. This is confirmed on Chabad affiliated websites.
Heading the Chabad effort is Rav Yaakov Halprin, number 5 on the UTJ Jerusalem ticket and a veteran and well-known Jerusalem Chabad askan. Running the campaign for Chabad is another well-known activist in the Chabad community in Yerushalayim, Mendy Blau.

Why post the Rebbe’s picture???
Individual Lubavitchers are supporting Porush. Only the Rebbe decides what “Chabad” supports.
