Shas leader Eli Yishai on Wednesday rejected the latest offer put on the table by Premier-designate Tzipi Livni, who is beginning to realize the Sephardic chareidi party may opt to remain in opposition, which may prove to be more advantageous than joining a government which many believe will be short-lived.
Livni is already coming under attack from inside her Kadima party, with some explaining she insisted on personally undertaking the coalition talks but point out she lacks experience in this area.
Yishai reportedly told Livni on Wednesday that if she moves ahead to present a narrow government next week, which may include Labor, Pensioners and Meretz, Shas will vote against it.
