Minister of Public Security Avi Dichter stated on Friday that much of the Akko incitement encouraging rioting in the Arab community came from the minarets in the city’s mosques.
The minister stated that rioting will not be permitted in the racially mixed city and those responsible will be taken into custody and they will face criminal charges for their actions.
In another Akko-related news item, the city’s mayor announced on Friday that the Chol Hamoed Sukkos festival planned in the city is being canceled as a result of the ongoing violence.
