The deadline has expired to submit the names of candidates in the local municipality elections around the country.
 
In the Jerusalem mayoral race, the contenders are Nir Barkat, Meir Porush and Arkadi Gaydamak. The mukhtar from Jabel Mukaber decided not to run in the mayoral race.
 
In Bnei Brak, after all parties were in agreement and elections were canceled.  Rav Yaakov Asher is the candidate who enjoys the endorsement of all, leading to a cancellation of elections for the first time since the city was founded.
