An organization committed to protecting human rights in Yehuda and Shomron (Yosh) is seeking to establish a dialogue between settler representatives and officials in the Israel Border Police.
Officials in the human rights group in their request point out border police commanders in the past have been permitted to meet with representatives of the radical left-wing Machsom Watch and B’tselem organizations.
They feel that such a dialogue could serve to significantly reduce tensions between law-enforcement troops and Yosh residents, adding border police are frequently involved in skirmishes between Yosh residents. Thus further highlights the need for a channel of communication they explain.
