Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) have almost reached an agreement on final borders, Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) reports.
Olmert has put forward his master plan which would leave three major settlement blocs; Maale Adumim, Ariel, and Gush Etzion. The remainder of areas would be handed over to the PA. The PA would also receive a sizable land parcel inside the Green Line, namely in pre-1967 Green Line Israel, on the Gaza border, the very same kibbutzim and communities that have been enduring rocket attacks during the past years. Other areas of land in the Southern Chevron Hills and Beit Shean area would also be handed over to the PA according to the Olmert plan.
According to the report, despite the fact that there is only one small matter remaining regarding borders, the PA leader rejected the proposal since it does not address “Palestinian refugees” and the future status of Yerushalayim.

look what happened in the Gaza when we handed over Gush Katif Hamas just destroyed everything and made it easier for Hamas to attack Sderot. With all the give backs, it’s still not enough.

Once again, the chilonim succeed in proving that superior Jewish intelligence is a myth. Otherwise, how can one explain the spectacular stupidity of a government, and for that matter, a populous, that sits by while the most disgustingly corrupt politician is giving away vital parts of the country AFTER he resigned? The idiocy of this is so astounding, it fairly also proves the truth of the Torah, because Hashem many times promised that He would confuse and bewilder us if we don’t follow His ways.
It appears they aren’t even close on the major issues, so who cares? If the land exchange involved many Israeli Arabs becoming Palestinians and losing Israeli citizenship, it might be popular even among many right-wing Israelis who wouldn’t mind the Israeli left losing several seats in the kenesset. However since they only agreed on minor issues, and both men lack public support, it probably means very little.
