SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Border police apprehended a wanted suspect on a bus traveling in the Shechem district.

*Carmiel District, North: In an abandoned building, police found a number of pipe bombs ready for use, a shotgun, ammunition, a Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle and parts of a 150mm rocket. Police are investigating.

*Three firebombs were hurled at a Jewish driver near Tapuach in Shomron.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*A man about 60, who returned from abroad, went into cardiac arrest near Brosh Gate in Ben-Gurion International Airport. He was transported to Assaf HaRofeh Hospital.

*An emergency was declared in Ben-Gurion International Airport on Thursday morning when a small plane with eight on board declared it was having difficulties. Emergency procedures were implemented. The plane landed without incident.

*Speaking to relatives of Prof. Sternhell, the Israel Prize laureate lightly injured in a pipe bomb attack, President Peres called the attack “revolting”.

*The director of Bar Ilan University, Prof. Moshe Kaveh, called on the religious community to openly condemn the attack on Professor Sternhell, who is affiliated with the radical left-wing.
