Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz is busy preparing the Kosel for Rosh Hashanah and the Tishrei Yomim Tovim. Included in his many tasks is the responsibility to clean out kvitlach from the Kosel stones, a job that demands supervision from engineering staff to ensure nothing compromises the integrity of the ancient stones.
After removing the kvitlach from the Kosel, they are placed in large bags and taken for kvura on Har HaZeisim.
Security remains high in Yerushalayim and the Old City in particular, as Muslims observe Ramadan and Am Yisrael is preparing for the holiest time of the year. Some 150,000 visitors have been making their way to the Kosel nightly since last week, as Ashkenazim began reciting slichos. The numbers continue to increase as the Yomim Tovim draw near.

I always wondered how there’s just always room to put your kvittle somewhere…
