The Jerusalem District court on Wednesday sentenced terrorist Anwar Ahdush, 37, to 67 years in prison for the murder of two Israelis, 8-year-old Liraz Chimi and David Ben-Chemo, both in 2006.
In May 2006, the terrorist entered Ben-Chemo’s home and began striking him with an axe. He died in a matter of minutes as a result of the severe blows to his head. Ahdush then wrapped the body in paper and set it ablaze.
Two days following the brutal slaying, he abducted and strangled 8-year-old Liraz, wrapped up her body and fled the scene.
A member of the Jerusalem Prosecutor’s team, attorney Oshrat Shoham expressed satisfaction over the sentence, but Liraz’s family was angered, stating “the state is giving him a room and meals. The death sentence should have been implemented a long time ago.”
