In another episode of ongoing tensions between the Supreme Court and Justice Minister Daniel Friedman, the judicial committee to select high court justices adjourned on Monday without selecting new justices.
In a move perceived as a revenge muscle-flexing exercise, the chief justice, Dorit Beinish got her turn, explaining she and her colleagues cannot vote for new justices at present since it would not be proper to make such a decision during the time period of a transition government. She stated that this is the way it must be “despite the price that we pay,” well-aware she has been waiting for a long time for her political nemesis, Minister Friedman, to step forward to convene the committee to make the long-awaited appointments.
In what many perceive as ‘shooting herself in the foot,’ the chief justice nevertheless used the forum to fire back at Friedman, who continues his policies towards curtailing the policies of the nation’s highest court.

The Israeli legal system is really good for laugh, especially if one lives in the US (they probably think our financial system is hillarious).
