An Israeli political source admitted on Tuesday morning that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu did not receive advance notice of the step announced by President Trump during the joint press conference on Monday—the initiation of direct talks with Iran on its nuclear program.
The source noted that while the possibility that Trump would renew contacts with Iran was taken into account, it was evident at the joint press conference between the US President and the Prime Minister that Netanyahu was not aware of the move in advance and was surprised by the announcement.
The source added that the fact that Trump promised that Israel would receive reports on any developments that arise from the negotiations is very positive. He also stressed that the talks will be very different from those that took place under the Obama administration since Trump forced Iran into agreeing to the talks with a show of force, including threats of military action and sanctions. During his announcement, Trump threatened that “if the talks with Iran fail, Iran will be in great danger.”
Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump ended with disappointing results regarding the 17% tariff imposed on Israel, with Trump noncommittal about removing it.

Bibi better express thanks to Trump for the upcoming Iran deal and the 17% tariffs if he doesn’t want to get the Zelensky treatment. In any case Trump apparently has a new BFF in Turkey. Get ready to pay more for every Israeli product you buy at the store and get ready for the average frum family to be hit with 10k annual Trump consumption tax on all imports. That is besides from what you lose in the market. But then again we should be happy to pay so much so that perhaps some people in West Virginia can get a job on an assembly line.
Somehow I’m not surprised by this.
Maybe it was the fact that every other world leader made a speech about tariffs and called someone in the Trump administration whereas Bibi hopped on a jet to meet with the Donald?
It kind of made sense that they weren’t going to just be talking about tariffs.
Doesnt matter. It will come to nothing. Unlike Biden who agreed to anything, Trump will not settle for platitudes and postponements. Iran will never agree to the White Devil as they would rather self destruct.
I am old enough to remember when Trump issued all types of bombastic threats against “little rocket man” only to shortly thereafter “fall in love” with the dear leader for essentially nothing in return. Perhaps the imams will follow suit and write him some nice letters and he will fall in love with them as well.
