British Airways (BA) has officially resumed flights to Tel Aviv, landing its first plane at Ben-Gurion Airport early Sunday morning after nearly six months of suspended service due to the ongoing Israel–Hamas war.
The overnight flight from London Heathrow marked the carrier’s first landing in Israel since service was halted in October. A return flight to London departed shortly after sunrise.
BA’s return coincides with a surge in travel demand surrounding Pesach, as thousands of travelers prepare for visits. The move makes British Airways one of the first major international airlines to resume regular routes to Israel since the conflict began, joining a limited number of carriers currently operating between the UK and Tel Aviv.
Throughout the war, Israel’s national airline, El Al, maintained daily flights to and from London, though limited competition pushed fares higher, drawing criticism from passengers over pricing. Carriers like Israir and Wizz Air have offered sporadic service, while Virgin Atlantic is not expected to resume flights until October.
