The IDF and Shin Bet announced Thursday that they successfully struck a key Hamas command and control center in Jabalia—eliminating multiple high-ranking terrorists, including individuals directly involved in the October 7 massacre.
The strike, carried out on Wednesday, targeted a central hub used by Hamas both for strategic coordination and as a gathering place for senior operatives. Among those killed was Shadi Diab Abd Al-Hamid Falouji, a terrorist from Hamas’ East Jabalia Battalion who infiltrated Israeli territory and took part in the brutal attacks of October 7.
The operation also took out several other high-value targets:
- Mohammed Sharif, a member of Hamas’ General Security Apparatus, who played a key role in the propagandistic hostage-release ceremony involving abducted Israeli Agam Berger.
- Mohammed Hani Atiya Daour, commander of Hamas’ Rocket and Mortar Squad, responsible for orchestrating rocket barrages on Israeli civilians.
- Mohammed Issa Mahmoud Askari, a dual-role terrorist in Hamas’ Northern Brigade Rocket Unit and its General Security Apparatus.
Israeli security officials emphasized that extensive precautions were taken to minimize civilian harm. “Aerial surveillance and layered intelligence assessments were employed before the strike to prevent collateral damage,” the IDF said in a statement.
The military stressed that Hamas continues to brazenly violate international law by embedding its operations in civilian infrastructure and using the population of Gaza as human shields. “This operation is part of our ongoing effort to dismantle Hamas’ military capabilities and protect the citizens of Israel,” the statement concluded.
