The Honenu legal aid organization expressed outrage at the Supreme Court’s decision this week to reduce the sentences of two Palestinians convicted of participating in a violent lynching of a Jewish family that mistakenly entered an Arab village in northern Israel during Operation Guardian of the Walls in 2021.
One of the terrorists was originally sentenced to seven years in prison, and the Supreme Court reduced his sentence to three years and four months. The sentence of another terrorist, which was initially four years in prison, was shortened to two years and nine months.
According to the indictment, the Jewish family got lost and mistakenly entered the village, where they were brutally attacked by a mob of dozens of Arabs who threw stones at their vehicle. The Arabs then climbed on the car’s roof, smashed its windows, and forcibly tried to pull the family members out. The mother of the family protected her young children with her body and absorbed most of the blows and stones herself, including a direct hit to her face from a large stone thrown at close range. Only after much effort did the family manage to escape the severe lynching and were evacuated for medical treatment.
Adv. Chaim Bleicher, who is representing the family, expressed anger and astonishment at the Supreme Court’s decision. “This is a scandalous decision that unacceptably lightens the punishment of terrorists who were partners in the attempted mass murder of an innocent Israeli family by a violent and bloodthirsty mob. At a time when Israeli citizens are facing an ongoing wave of terror and internal security is under threat, this decision by the Supreme Court directly harms punishment, deterrence, and security. Severe punishment for perpetrators of lynching and terrorism is essential for preserving the lives of Israeli citizens.”

Lynch the Supreme Court.
The original sentence was wrong anyway. They should have been summarily executed.
Why are these terrorists jailed? They need to be executed immediately, no trials, appeals, or other circus performances. We shouldn’t have this problem of these liberal, corrupt judges.
those who have mercy on the wicked are cruel to the righteous – but its irrelevant, they will be out in no-time in a swap of terror-prisoners against innocent hostages…
Small silver lining might be increased public awareness that the supreme court does not represent justice?
Mark my word:- The wicked evil brutal supreme court [so called] judges, shall each serve out the combined abrogated time of these 2 Savages in the worse abysses of גיהינום many times over
Sick and getting sicker. Glad I live in Boro park.
The length of their actual sentence will be no longer than when the last hostages are released as in the final deal Hamas will insist on the release of every last prisoner and if Israel objects at all it will be about those who have blood on their hands.
That said after all the hostages are released Israel should rearrest all of those it was forced to release as an agreement for the ransom of a kidnapping is not binding under the law because the kidnappers had no right to hold their victims in the first place.
There is no doubt that if a group like al Quada kidnapped Americans overseas demanding America release al Quida terrorists from US prisons, once the Americans were released America would instantly take those terrorists back into custody if they were on American soil. This fact would be so obvious that al Quida would demand that their terrorists must be out of US territory before they release the hostages.
With Israel, on the other hand, its the other way around. Israel was demanding that certain Hamas prisoners go overseas as a condition of their release while Hamas demanded they be allowed to remain, where they will be subject to getting rearrested by Israel, showing how certain Hamas is Israel would not rearrest them even if they go back to their old activities.
Disgusting but typical of the so-called “supreme court”. It is only a matter of time until the evil members of the court will suffer similar fates to those whose cases they judge with such evil.
