Ambassador To Israel Nominee Mike Huckabee Pledges Unwavering Support For Jewish State

In a powerful and unapologetic confirmation hearing, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee made it abundantly clear that he is ready to take on the role of U.S. ambassador to Israel, standing firmly with America’s strongest ally in the Middle East. Speaking before the Senate committee, Huckabee stressed that he would represent the policies of President Donald Trump, rather than his personal views, though his decades-long commitment to Israel’s security and sovereignty is undeniable.

Huckabee, a longtime supporter of Israel’s right to defend itself and expand its territorial claims, showcased his deep personal connection to the Jewish state, recalling his first visit as a teenager and the countless trips he has led over the years. His unwavering support for Israel’s security was met with outbursts from anti-Israel agitators in the chamber, who were promptly removed.

The former governor made it clear that his focus as ambassador would be on strengthening the Abraham Accords—the landmark peace agreements between Israel and several Arab nations brokered during Trump’s first term. He stressed that a potential normalization deal with Saudi Arabia would be a historic achievement of “biblical proportions.”

During questioning, Huckabee reaffirmed his longstanding skepticism of the two-state solution, an outdated policy pushed by previous administrations that has repeatedly failed to bring peace. He made it clear that any future agreements must prioritize Israel’s security and sovereignty, not the demands of the Palestinian Authority, which continues to support terrorist organizations and incite violence against Israel.

Senators attempted to press Huckabee on issues related to military operations in Gaza, including the use of targeted airstrikes and humanitarian aid restrictions. Huckabee refused to engage in anti-Israel rhetoric, instead emphasizing that Hamas—not Israel—bears full responsibility for the war and the suffering in Gaza. “The Jewish people need to know they have friends,” he declared, calling out the anti-Israel sentiment spreading on American university campuses and in global diplomatic circles.

Huckabee did not shy away from denouncing the Palestinian Authority’s corruption and refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist. He pointed out that PA leader Mahmoud Abbas is now in the 20th year of his four-year term, exposing the Palestinian leadership’s aversion to democracy. He also condemned the PA’s notorious “pay-for-slay” program, which rewards terrorists for murdering Israelis, despite Abbas’s recent half-hearted promises to end the policy.

When asked about the Trump administration’s policy on Gaza’s future, Huckabee said that Hamas will have no role in governing the enclave. He clarified that any relocation efforts for Palestinian civilians would be voluntary, offering them “a safe and secure place to live during the process of cleaning out what is a disastrous mess.”
