The US has been exerting massive pressure on Egypt in recent weeks to absorb hundreds of thousands of Gazans.
The London-based New Arab media outlet reported that the US plan, which was conveyed to Egypt through UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, is that Egypt will absorb between half a million and 700,000 Gazans.
According to the report, Bin-Zayed arrived in Egypt on Sunday evening for a visit and conveyed the US message to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, saying that if Egypt complies with the plan, the US will provide massive financial assistance of billions of dollars to aid the Egyptian economy, which is currently in crisis.
However, if Egypt continues to refuse to absorb Gazans, the US will look for alternatives and the billions of dollars will be transferred to other countries along with much of the US military aid to Egypt.
The report added that the US also plans to pressure Jordan into absorbing Gazans.

Would be much better if they used Somalia. If they go to Egypt or Jordan they’ll just be waiting there to go back to Gaza, and probably start another terror group against Israel while they’re waiting.
So, he wants to move the terrorists to a neighbouring country, where Israel will not be able to pursue them – they must be moved away a 1000 miles from Israels border.
“absorb”? does this mean that trump has given up on the idea of relocating people from gaza, temporarily, while reconstruction is under way? because half a million gazans would destabilize egypt, especially in the sinai, where there’s already an al-qaeda style insurrection. egypt would probably prefer to contain them in closed refugee camps, in sinai, rather than letting them loose in egypt, or granting them citizenship. they need the money, but el-sissi is not prepared to commit political suicide.
This is not called diplomacy, this is strong arming, the only way the degenerate adulterous felon knows how to “negotiate”. Egypt could most likely turn to a number of rich Arab states for money. Moving out the gazans is as much of a joke as Canada becoming the 51st state. Noise and distraction.
