The Commander of IDF Ground Forces, Major-General Avi Mizrachi warns that a future conflict with Syria may result in the Syrian use of chemical weapons.
The senior commander made his remarks in an address to the 21st Century Land Maneuver Conference, being hosted in Latrun, explaining Israel is preparing for the worst scenario, well aware of possible future threats. He stated the possibility of Syrian use of chemical weaponry is a real one, and the military is preparing accordingly. He added that while the military has seen significant improvement since the Second Lebanon War, there is still room for continued improvement.
