Eli Sharabi, 52, Ohad Ben Ami, 56, and Or Levy, 34, were released on Shabbos morning in shocking condition after 491 days in Hamas captivity in Gaza.

According to their initial testimonies, the three men were held in tunnels underground during their captivity, deprived of sunlight, and completely disconnected from the outside world and any exposure to the media. They were unaware of the details of the October 7 attack and the events of the past year and four months.

They also were starved during their captivity and were constantly hungry. In the past week, the Hamas terrorist provided them with more food and water in a feeble attempt to hide the extent of their human rights crimes.

In addition to the intentional starvation, the three reported that they underwent torture during their captivity, including physical violence and psychological abuse. They were forced to undergo brutal and violent interrogations as former reserve soldiers, with the terrorists torturing them to extract information about the IDF. Throughout their captivity, the Hamas terrorists treated the hostages with brutality, including severe physical violence, daily humiliations, and constant psychological terror.

Kan News reported that the three hostages were constantly moved from place to place underground. The hostages described the conditions as inhumane, including the lack of air and light and even the most minimal hygiene conditions, such as bathrooms.

Geula Levy, Or’s mother, said. “I asked him if he was cold in the tunnel,” she said. “He told me, ‘You don’t feel temperature down there. We couldn’t tell if it was summer or winter.”

Channel 12 reported that Or was barefoot during the entire captivity and was only been provided shoes today for the first time since October 7.
