Ohad, Ohr & Eli Released From Captivity In Shocking Condition: “Like Holocaust Survivors”

Eli Sharabi, 52, Ohad Ben Ami, 56, and Or Levy, 34, were released on Shabbos morning in shocking condition after 491 days in Hamas captivity in Gaza.

Hamas held a cruel handover ceremony in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, with the three men appearing skeletal and pale and requiring support from Hamas terrorists to walk onto the stage, where they were forced to speak for an extended period.

The images from the Strip have sparked significant outrage both in the country and internationally.

Tragically, two of the hostages came home to heartbreaking news, Sharabi, who was abducted from Kibbutz Be’eri, was unaware that his wife and two teenage daughters were murdered on October 7.

Levy, who was abducted from the Nova party, learned that something happened to his wife during his captivity, and upon his release, an IDF representative confirmed that his wife had been murdered at Nova on October 7. His toddler son, who was being babysat by his grandparents, survived.

The heinous Hamas animals forced the visibly starved and weak Eli Sharabi to say he was excited to go home and looking forward to seeing his wife and daughters, knowing they had been murdered on October 7. The Hamas terrorists then laughed.

Additionally, the Hamas terrorists announced the murder of Eli’s older brother Yossi, H’yd, to the sound of applause as they paraded the emaciated hostages on the stage. Yossi, H’yd, was also taken hostage on October 7 but was later confirmed dead by the IDF.

The heinous Hamas terrorists recorded the moments they told the hostages in Gaza they’re being released:

According to Israeli media reports, Sharabi’s first question when he arrived in Israel was about the fate of his wife and daughters and was informed of their murder by an IDF representative. His relatives received advice from psychologists on how to speak to him about his family.

  1. Can we refrain from posting photos /clips taken through chillul Shabbos? The ones taken by Arb and foreign media in Gaza are fine, it was probably not taken by Jews, but the ones on the Israeli side, especially the ones released by IDF, was probably taken by Jews on Shabbos.
Such posts were removed by YWN in previous weeks, and it is commendable. Let’s continue the kiddush Hashem and adherence to Halacha.

  2. The video that shows them being told about their release, is doctored.
The audio is different than the video.

They are not saying what the audio says.
Watch the lips. It’s like a movie with a different audio.

  3. I am reading this article and it brought me to tears.
We honestly all together should try our best and beg Hashem to have all the remaining hostages freed ASAP.
I read in a Sefer of Rav Shimshon Pinkus
    זכר צדיק לברכה
He said that when a person says Tehillim, Dovid HaMelech himself is helping your prayer to get answered by Hashem.

  4. Get every last hostage out and smoke the entire Gaza. End of story. No transfers, no resettlements. Simply destroy the place once and for all.
