The residents of the Yad Yair outpost in the Benjamin Regional Council district of Shomron are calling for reinforcements, seeking to thwart the IDF’s plans to remove the outpost located near Talmon in the near future.

Yad Yair activists realized that the army was amassing troops in the area on Tuesday, as well as bringing in construction vehicles, leading them to conclude the military plans to remove outpost. Using SMS text messaging, they began sending calls for reinforcements to hundreds and possibly thousands of people, resulting in a several hundred supporters making their way to the outpost.

Tensions were on the rise on Tuesday night, and at one point, the Jews began hurling rocks at the IDF outpost in the area, military sources reported. No injuries were reported as a result of the rock attacks.

Last week, scuffles ensued in the area involving the residents, the army and the IDF’s Civil Administration. One resident ordered his dog to attack soldiers and an IDF reserve duty major sustained a fractured finger/hand in the incident.
