The Ministry of Health in Israel is calling upon parents to have their children immunized with a flu vaccine in their kupat cholim (HMO). There is no charge for the service.

Health officials report that while in past years, the vaccine was given to children 6 months – 2 years, this year it will be extended to children up to age 5, realizing the children from 3-5 do a commendable job in spreading the flu in kindergartens and daycare centers and expansion of the vaccination program could have a positive impact on curtailing the spread of the flu this winter.
