Prof. Dror: 50 Percent of Winograd Commission Recommendations Ignored

Speaking at a Herzliya conference on Sunday, Professor Yechezkel Dror, a member of the Winograd Commission investigating the government and army roles in the Second Lebanon War, stated only about 50% of the commission’s recommendations have been implemented.

Dror was a lone voice after the commission completed its investigation, stating the body appointed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert did indeed take political realities into consideration before publicizing its report.

He added that today, only about 50% of what the commission reported as required and necessary changes were implemented, adding that the defense established is too busy involving itself in the political arena, far beyond a desirable measure.
