National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir published a video on Motzei Shabbos saying that after a cheshbon nefesh, he apologizes to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Likud MK Boaz Bismuth for his behavior last week in the Knesset.

Ben-Gvir instructed his party members to vote against a key bill, forcing Netanyahu to leave his hospital bed less than two days after surgery and Bismuth to leave his home while sitting shiva for his mother. His move infuriated his fellow coalition members who called on the prime minister to fire him.

In the video, Ben-Gvir said that his party will continue to vote “according to its principles” until a solution is found for budgetary cuts to the police and prison services.

“At the same time, I did a cheshbon nefesh over the weekend and realized that I made a mistake when I saw the Prime Minister and Boaz in the plenum,” Ben-Gvir said. “I apologize to the Prime Minister and my friend Boaz Bismuth.”

Ben-Gvir then promised to vote with the coalition “until Netanyahu has a full recovery, b’ezrat Hashem.”

  1. The man is a human who is not infallible. He is so wholesomely dedicated to Am Yisroel as a whole and most particularly to Yehuda and Shomron with such amazing dedication – totally off the charts. Yes, like us all, he’s made mistakes but he has owned up. Most people, especially politicians, do not. I personally wish he didn’t go up to the Har Habayit as he does.
