9th Consecutive Day: Hamas Fires Rockets At Israel, Shoulder Missile Fired At IAF Helicopter

Hamas terrorists in Gaza fired missiles at Israel on Friday and Shabbos for the eighth and ninth day in a row.

A rocket fired from northern Gaza on Shabbos afternoon hit the Erez Crossing. Baruch Hashem, no injuries were reported but the rocket impact damaged the crossing, which is used for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

On Friday, sirens sounded in Kibbutz Be’eri for the first time in 10 months. The IDF later said that the sirens were sounded after Hamas terrorists in central Gaza launched a surface-to-air shoulder-fired missile at an IAF helicopter.

Baruch Hashem, the missile was intercepted, and the helicopter evaded the attack unharmed. Since the missile was fired eastward, toward Be’eri, sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, sirens sounded in Sderot and Gaza border communities. A rocket was intercepted over Sderot and shrapnel from the interceptor missile was found in the city. B’Chasdei Hashem, no injuries or damage were reported.

Another rocket fell near Kibbutz Nir Am in the Gaza border area and a third rocket fell in an open area near the border.

The IDF later ordered the residents of Bureij in Gaza, where the rocket was launched at Be’eri, to evacuate the area.
