Israel: Driver Sets New Speeding Record


The 37-year-old driver was apprehended by traffic police over the weekend on Route 70 (Yagur Junction to Tsumach Junction) traveling at 217 KPH (130 MPH) in an area with a maximum speed of 90 KPH (55 MPH). The previous record traffic police report was 207 KPH (124 MPH).

Zevulun district traffic police chief, Commander Jihad Sa’ab reports the driver in custody explained that he just got a new car and wanted to test it out. The ‘pilot’ is now awaiting an expeditious appearance before a traffic court judge.

  1. Rotchim!!!! We do not need wars in israel.
    The number of fatalaties from car accidents far surpasses the number of casualties from wars.

    I hope they make a good example out of him and put him away for 5 years!
