SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*In another good-will measure between Israel and the PA, the IDF on Thursday opened a bridge in Chevron connecting to the Tarkumiya Crossing.

*Two explosives were detonated near Kissufim in Gaza on Thursday night. No injuries were reported.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Bodily remains believed to be of 4-year-old Rose were found on Thursday morning in the Yarkon River inside a red colored bag. The human parts were sent to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for positive identification.

*Chopper pilot Major Shai Danor, who was killed in a mishap on Wednesday night, will be laid to rest on Friday, at 11:00AM in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery.

*Officials in Yerushalayim deny reports by US Consul General in Jerusalem Jack Wallace that an agreement has been reached with the PA calling for the division of Jerusalem.

*Lottery officials announced the winner of the Aug. 26th lottery has yet to step forward to claim his NIS 20 million prize.

*Minister Ami Ayalon, responsible for the government’s “Sheirut Leumi” program, is calling to significantly increase the number of chareidim serving in some sort of “public service” in the coming years.

*Ofrah: An Arab male in his 40s was killed in a hit-and-run incident. Police are searching for the driver in the Shomron community.

*Ben-Gurion Airport: A light plane reporting technical malfunctions landed without incident on Thursday afternoon.

*IAF commander Major-General Ido Nehushtan visited the site of the fatal Cobra helicopter crash to be briefed on details of the incident.

*Funds intended for Holocaust survivors will be distributed by Rosh Hashanah state officials announced on Thursday.

*The name of the second chopper crew member killed in the Wednesday night crash is Major Yuval Holtzman, 40, of Moshav Matan.
