*Egyptian security forces shot two Sudanese infiltrators dead and wounded a third on Tuesday morning near the Israeli border.
*Border police operating in the Tzur Bachar area of Yerushalayim were attacked by some 200 Israeli Arabs on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported. The first bulldozer was from that neighborhood of the capital.
*Police are investigating a report from a driver of the Shomron Development Corporation who on Tuesday morning reported an Arab tractor driver tried to ram his bus near the Arab village of Salfit in Shomron.
POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:
*Former senior IDF officer Oren Shachor is joining the Tel Aviv mayoral race.
*Rishon L’Tzion Mayor Meir Nitzan was assaulted on Monday night during a parlor meeting. Police have the assailant in custody.
*There is a backlog in the nation’s traffic courts of 20,000 summonses, blamed on the severe lack of manpower.
*Aryeh Deri announced that if the legal system permits him to run, he will indeed compete as a candidate in the Jerusalem mayoral race.
*Police on hand in Yerushalayim as thousands make their way to Gur wedding in the Gur central beis medresh in Geula.
*Movement for Quality Government calling on the Knesset anti-corruption lobby to amend moral turpitude law to block someone from holding public office for 15 years.
*A meeting was held on Tuesday between opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu and Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik. They refused comment following the meeting.
