The IDF has announced that an officer injured in northern Gaza earlier this month has died from his wounds. Maj. Guy Yaacov Nezri, 25, a company commander with the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade, was critically injured on October 19 during clashes in Jabaliya. Nezri, from Atlit, sustained his injuries in the same incident that claimed the lives of Staff Sgt. Ofir Berkovich and Sgt. Elishai Young.

The IDF reports that the soldiers were struck by anti-tank fire. Nezri’s passing raises the Israeli death toll in the Gaza ground operation and related border conflicts to 363.
