The cruel murder of the avreich HaRav Rafael Mordechai Fishoff, H”yd by a heinous terrorist in Hadera shortly before Yom Kippur left his family reeling in grief.
According to the initial plan, HaRav Fishoff, z’l, was going to be buried in Yerushalayim on Har HaMenuchos, where the State would provide a kever.
However, his father, who is a Rosh Yeshivah in Bnei Brak, and his almanah, both preferred that he be buried in the Ponevezh Beis HaChaim in Bnei Brak, which is a private cemetery. When this became known to the incredible Ba’al HaChessed, Shai Graucher, he paid not just for a kever for HaRav Fishoff, z’l, but paid for two kevarim in accordance with the minhag of buying a kever for the almanah, לאוי”ט.
One of the relatives told B’Chadrei Chareidim that the father very much wanted his son to be buried in Bnei Brak but had already come to terms with the fact that he would be buried in Yerushalayim.
“We cried when we heard that Reb Graucher paid for a kever,” he said. “Only Hashem can pay him back for such a wonderful chessed.”
