Shimon Chadad, who is a member of the Jerusalem City Council on the Degel HaTorah slate, has announced he is breaking away from the party to form his own party, “Moriah”. A reason for his decision has not been announced at present.

Chadad entered the council recently, taking over for Uri Maklev who became a member of Knesset after Meir Porush left to enter the Jerusalem mayoral race.

After taking the oath, Chadad has seven days to announce he was changing his party allegiance, and he did just that on the last day.
